I live across the street from BNSF tracks so I have a pretty good view out my window to watch the trains go by. One of the first pictures I found that I took of a train across the street was on a rainy day.
There is actually construction that recently started to put a bridge over the tracks (OC Bridges project led by the OCTA). Before construction started there were a lot of large trees between me and the road.
At first there wasn’t much construction going on, just utility companies digging up the road and moving stuff around. I keep trying to catch a BNSF warbonnet locomotive but all I get are the heritage II and III paint schemes.
As construction slowly built up, the trees were eventually cut down. Now I could have clearer shots of the trains passing by!
Mostly I just see intermodal freight trains, but occasionally there are more interesting cars, including an older Santa Fe hopper.
